Figs, glorious figs!

Yes, you can grow figs on the Front Range! Native to the Middle East, figs love our hot summers, but being a mile closer to the sun is a bit much for them. I move mine between sunny spots on my deck to ripen the fruit, and shady spots to give the plants a break. Before the first frost of fall, my baby trees come inside to join me for the winter. If you decide to try growing figs yourself, don't panic if all the leaves fall off when you first bring them inside - with regular water and a sunny window, they will return in no time, along with tiny delicious figs for you to snack on!

Daylily Daze

This gorgeous daylily graced the garden of a home I visited today in Thornton. It's amazing what a blooming flower can do to perk up the vibe in a tiny yard!

Cutting Garden

One of my garden goals this year was to grow a garden that would supply me with a steady stream of fresh cut flowers, to share with friends, display in homes I'm selling, and grace my own home. From cornflowers to coneflowers, asters to zinnias, I'm happy to report success!
